Wolverines Recycle!

Waste Management Services recycles the cardboard collected from the vendors at the Stadium during games. We've converted the tons of cardboard into trees so you can see how many trees were saved by not putting the cardboard into the landfill. Check back after each game and watch our tree grow and count how many trees we've saved over the entire football season. You'll be surprised what happens when Wolverines Recycle!

Pop and water bottles are also collected at the Stadium each game. Most people don't realize that when they recycle beverage containers that energy and water is saved by not using raw materials or energy to produce new products. Americans throw away 2.5 million plastic beverage bottles every hour...don't be one of them!

Game Update

On November 4^th the University of Michigan played Ball State. It was the seventh and final home game of the year with 109,359 fans in attendance. At the game, with the help of Michigan fans and vendors, we recycled 22.26 percent of the waste from the game and kept this material from going to the landfill. We recycled 2.13 tons of cardboard and 1.45 tons of mixed containers!
