Michigan Recycles is a guide by students to recycling in Ann Arbor for University of Michigan students living off-campus.
Recycling off-campus is just as easy as recycling on-campus! The same recyclables that are acceptable in residence halls are accepted by the City of Ann Arbor. This means all the rules you learned about what you can and cannot recycle in your residence hall still apply! The only difference is that instead of collecting your recyclables in your blue room tote, place your recyclables into City-provided recycling bins, either at curbside locations or in recycling carts.
The City of Ann Arbor provides a comprehensive curbside recycling program for all single-family houses, multi-family apartment buildings, Cooperatives, and Greek houses. Recyclable materials are picked-up on a weekly basis, on the same day as regular trash collection. Residents are provided with recycling collection bins or carts at NO CHARGE.
