Containers

Look for bins marked . Containers is the term used for food and beverage containers. The following items are collected together, a.k.a. "commingled," from food service areas, residence hall waste closets, and in selected areas of academic/administrative buildings.

• Glass Bottles & Jars, Ceramics
• Milk Cartons & Juice Boxes
• Plastic Bottles #1 and #2
• Steel Cans, Aluminum & Metals

Paper

Look for bins marked . Paper is the term used for all types and grades of paper. Paper and cardboard are collected together, a.k.a. "commingled," from all buildings on campus.

• Corrugated Cardboard & Paper Bags
• Newspapers, Magazines and Catalogs (including glossies)
• Office Paper and Junk Mail
• Paperboard & Boxboard
• Shredded Paper
• Telephone Books and Paperback Books

Special Items

The following are special items that are handled differently from the above materials.

• Batteries & Hazardous Materials
• Electronic Media
• Laser Toner & Ink Jet Cartridges
• Overhead Transparencies
• Polystyrene or foam
• Scrap Wood & Pallets
• Small Electronics
• Textiles & Clothing are no longer recycled through the University in the paper recycling bins. There are many organizations in the area that accept clean and usable clothing. Clothing from the residence halls are still collected at Move-Out.
