This effort supports the University of Michigan's sustainability goal of reducing waste sent to landfills by 40% by 2025.
Green events incorporate environmental considerations throughout the entire process, from planning to implementation, in order to minimize the negative impact on the environment. All aspects can be considered, including location, printed materials, food, energy used, and the waste produced.
So how can you make your events and meetings greener? Check out the "Green Wolverine Event Checklist" created by University and Development Events, a part of the U-M Office of University Development. Thanks goes out to them for this extremely helpful resource!
