C & D Reuse

[photo, cardboard and carpet for reuse]

A large amount of material generated from renovation and demolition projects can often be reused. Furniture, doors, windows, hardware and trim are among the items most commonly reused from projects.

Before you start your renovation or demolition project, take a look around. What might you be able to carry over into the new project? Try to design your renovation or new construction project to include usable but discarded items. Cabinetry, doors, trim and fixtures are often easily incorporated into any new project.

University of Michigan units and departments generating reusable items from a project must contact Property Disposition. Property Disposition oversees the accountable disposal of University assets deemed surplus. Contact Property Disposition at 764-2470 for more information.
