Plant Building & Ground Services at the University of Michigan is proud to host the Big Ten & Friends Building Services 50th Anniversary Conference held September 16th through 19th 2008. The theme for this special anniversary conference is Then vs. Now, as we reflect on how the cleaning industry in the academic setting has changed from 1963 to the present. Schools have increasingly responded to the call to be more aware of the environment and the impact we leave. From being encouraged to “go green” with environmentally-friendly cleaning products, to the development of more ergonomically designed floor scrubbers which staff can ride, industry changes have been significant. We hope you enjoy this year’s conference as we once again exchange ideas in an effort to improve our performance and the environment around us.
