Repairing and reupholstering furniture isn't just a job for Phil Reed and Chris Heilmann; it's a labor of love and a family tradition. That dedication is apparent to their customers and the University alike. Phil and Chris have been the recipients of a Silver Arrow Awardfor which they were nominated by their customersand a C.A.R.E. Award from Plant Operations.

Phil Reed and Chris Heilmann
Phil Reed was trained in the trade of upholstery by his father, the owner and operator of a family business. His training began in 1967 and was completed in 1972. He continued working for the family business until 1981, when he joined the University.
Chris Heilmann represents the third generation in the upholstery business, also learning the trade as part of the family business. He has been in the upholstery business since 1965. Employed by the University since 1980, Chris is well versed in both upholstery and repair.
